Sam's 5K - December 2, 2007 at Kapiolani Park - Race report by Christian Friis
It was a wet Sunday morning, but around 200 people took the chance and went to Kapiolani Park to participate in the annual Sam's 5k. The rain kept away long enough to get the race underway, and for the most of the runners to finish, but then the clouds could not keep it in any longer!
There was a larger contingent of mainland participants due to the USA Track and Field convention that went on this weekend.
SAM's 5k. is the last race in the long Mid-Pacific Road Runners Club calendar, don't worry, they are starting up again January 1 with Bosetti 10k.
There were a few exciting finishes in the top and throughout the race, Karo Anderson was only three seconds ahead of Nancy Hobbs for second place, while Christoph Wanner, Switzerland, was three seconds ahead of the talented Kevin Enriques.
